“Significant challenges to educate our youths in Sierra Leone”

The recently introduced World Bank Human Capital Index (HCI) ranked Sierra Leone 151 out of 157 countries while the 2018 UNDP Human Development Index ranked Sierra Leone 184 out of 189 countries. These figures indicate and pinpoint the fact that delivery of basic services, especially education has deteriorated significantly in our country with adverse implications for human capital development.

Designing a practical curriculum for any target group within this context poised serious methodological challenges for education designers.

At SEP Tailoring Institute at Rokel, Freetown, we combine experiences and cooperative learning to teach participants basic tailoring skills. I am proud of our interventions in injecting hope in our participants as a step towards contributing to the Human capital development and prosperity of our country.
